Okay... I had so many ideas what fantasy is in my mind. Dragons, elves, orcs, angels, unicorns, blablabla. I couldn't decide if I wanted to do something with a "humanoid" creature or with an animal.
I started with the background and at some point this castle and ocean thingy reminded me of "The Last Unicorn". So I had to put a horse in there... and for some more woohoo there had to be wings.

Fantasy is: great landscapes, magic, wild supernatural creatures
And after I saw the first Pegasus picture as a kid I always wanted to ride one of them.
